Freelance Food Editor

Food is:

1. One of life's greatest joys, meant to be savored for its taste and nutritional value.
2. Best when you remove the plastic wrap before microwaving.
3. Can't I just take a pill instead?

If you answered "a" and have deep knowledge of the Triangle food scene (from highbrow dining to taco trucks to farmers' markets), can write compelling and interesting stories, can play well with others and can meet deadlines, then we'd like to hear from you.

The Indy's freelance food editor is responsible for assigning, editing and writing stories about one of America's most vibrant culinary scenes. Other responsibilities include launching and maintaining a food blog and developing a vision for and managing the quarterly Dish supplement.

Applicants should send 3-4 writing samples, a resume and a cover letter outlining an overarching vision for the food section to Editor Lisa Sorg.
