But for a truly twenty-first-century experience, nothing in Durham compares to AMF. Since the recent remodel, banks of HD screens stretch over the pins like the windshield of a starship, immersing you in an odd but energetic mix of sports broadcasts and Twenty One Pilots videos, wired together with a booming sound system and nightclub lighting. It feels like you’re bowling inside a giant 3-D TV, bathed in exciting purple radiation.
