Duke got away with its worst shooting performance of the season, going just 29.7 percent for the game in a 61-55 victory at UNC Charlotte.

Jasmine Thomas led the way with a season-high 19 points for the No. 6 Blue Devils as Coach Joanne P. McCallie had her team get off to a 6-0 start for the first time in her career.

Krystal Thomas added 10 points, a career-high 14 rebounds and a career-high eight blocked shots for the Blue Devils, who also got a double-double of 12 points and 11 rebounds from their fellow senior Karima Christmas.

Kendria Holmes led the 49ers (3-2), who led 22-7 at one point, with 15 points, followed by Shannon McCallum with 11. Epiphany Woodson added 10 and Jennifer Hailey with nine points to go with her 12 rebounds.

Duke’s next game is on Tuesday night at James Madison.
