Duke didn’t roll over host Wisconsin quite as easily as expected in the final game of the ACC/Big Ten Challenge, but the Blue Devils’ effort was good enough.

Jasmine Thomas had 14 points and seven rebounds while freshman Chelsea Gray came off the bench for 13 points as the No. 5 Blue Devils held off the host Badgers 59-51 Thursday night to help the ACC to a 6-5 victory in the competition.

Duke improved to 8-0 despite shooting only 33.3 percent from the floor to the hosts’ 40.0. The Blue Devils out-rebounded the Badgers 40-25.

Taylor Wurtz had 19 points for Wisconsin (2-6) while Alyssa Karel chipped in 14.

With UNC’s win over Iowa on Thursday and N.C. State’s romp at Illinois on Wednesday, all three Triangle teams won their games in the event.

Duke’s next game is at home on Monday night at 7 against No. 7 Texas A&M in the Jimmy V Classic.
