The Carolina Mudcats didn’t play at all.

Carlos Santana was the big hero for the Columbus Clippers, knocking a grand slam and a solo homer as they beat the Bulls 5-1 at Huntington Park to earn a split of their four-game series.

The Bulls visit the Toledo Mud Hens for the opener of their four-game series on Tuesday night.

Meanwhile the Mudcats and Jacksonville Suns were rained out at Five County Stadium, setting up a twi-night doubleheader on Tuesday.

Ryan Shealy had an RBI double in the ninth for the Bulls, helping them to avoid a second straight 5-0 shutout loss.

Mike Gosling (3-0) was the winning pitcher for the Clippers while Richard De Los Santos (2-2) took the loss.

Durham outhit the Clippers 9-6 as Jose Lobaton had three singles and Elliot Johnson two.
