N.C. Central has suddenly won two straight games in Division I.

Dijon Manns led the way with 24 points while C.J. Wilkerson (pictured) chipped in 21 for the Eagles as they topped future MEAC foe Maryland-Eastern Shore 73-71 at McDougald-McLendon Gym.

Wilkerson scored the game’s final four points from the free throw line, hitting two with 1:15 to go, one at :09 and then another at :04.

Nick Chasten chipped in 11 points for NCCU (6-20), which is 6-3 at home this season.

Hillary Haley, who missed a 3-pointer with :02 left, led the Hawks (7-17) with 16 points. Tim Burns added 12 points and Kevin White with 10 for UMES.

The Eagles’ five-game homestand continues Saturday night against Longwood. NCCU is 6-3 at home this season.
