Angel Chavez had a homer and three singles for three RBI, leading the Durham Bulls to a 9-8 decision over the host Norfolk Tides on Sunday for Durham’s seventh straight victory.

Meanwhile the Carolina Mudcats’ home game with the Mobile BayBears was rained out and canceled. Carolina will continue its homestand with the first of three games against the Birmingham Barons on Monday night.

The Bulls will play the last of their five games in Norfolk on Monday before returning home on Tuesday for the first of their final two against the Tides.

Rocco Baldelli added a homer and a single for two RBI for the Bulls, who continue to warm up for their fourth straight appearance in the Governors’ Cup Playoffs.

Joe Bateman (6-0) was the winning pitcher with Jake McGee picking up his first save.

Alberto Castillo (1-1) took the loss.
