N.C. Central must be pretty happy this road trip is over.

The Eagles’ first visit to Southern Methodist, in the final game of their six-game road swing, turned out to be pretty forgettable as the Mustangs won in a 78-50 blowout.

SMU (6-8) coached by UNC alumnus and former Tar Heel coach Matt Doherty, shot a season-best 65 percent in the win.

Nick Chasten (pictured) had 16 points and seven rebounds for NCCU (2-14), while C.J. Wilkerson chipped in 13 points.

Papa Dia had 16 points, Derek Williams 12 and Paul McCoy 10 to lead the Mustangs.

The Eagles will host High Point on Monday night at McLendon-McDougald Gym.
