N.C. State’s Marissa Kastanek has been named ACC women’s basketball rookie of the week.
Kastanek led her team with 18 points in the Wolfpack’s only game, a 74-71 loss at No. 16 Florida State on Sunday. She hit four 3-pointers during a 7-for-12 shooting day.
Kastanek, who is from Lincoln, Neb., leads all ACC freshmen with 1.7 3-pointers per game this season.
Virginia Tech senior guard Lindsay Biggs, who led her team to a 79-64 upset of UNC on Thursday night, is the league’s player of the week.
