Colectivo Liminal Silent Auction
Friday, Jul. 20, 6–9 p.m.
Through This Lens, Durham

At Through This Lens on July 20, Colectivo Liminal is holding a flash sale of fifty photographs that document issues of immigration, migration, and refugee crises in the global South.

The photos are the product of Colectivo Liminal’s network of journalists and photographers, hailing from as close to home as Durham and as far away as Argentina, who “work in the liminal spaces created by borders.” (One wall will be entirely dedicated to photos or photographers from North Carolina.) The flash sale is a response to ongoing threats against migrant, immigrant, and refugee families, which have escalated in the recent political climate.

Proceeds benefit Alerta Migratoria NC—a community organization that intervenes in deportations and promotes the agency of undocumented immigrants and refugees—and Al Otro Lado, a direct legal-services organization serving indigent deportees, migrants, and refugees in Tijuana, Mexico. The exhibit has an opening reception and silent auction (which continues through July 26) this Friday from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Each print is $45 with a flat shipping rate of $3.
