“We're very pleased to have these outstanding young ladies join the Carolina basketball family,” Hatchell said in a press release from the school. “In addition to being standout players, they're all great students and even better people. They have all either won or played for state championships and they have the winning mentality that we value. They will be tremendous assets to our team and our University.”
Buckland, from Bishop McGuinness High, is a 6-0 guard. Butts, from South Central High, is a 5-9 wing. Adams, from Montini Catholic High, is a 6-1 wing guard, while Rountree, from The Potter's House Christian Academy, is a 5-7 1/2 guard.
Wolfpack signee Dunnigan is a 6-2 post from Midpark High, Barrett a 5-8 guard from Skyline High, Donovan a 5-11 guard from John Jay High and Evans a 6-1 power forward from Boyd High.
“Collectively, this recruiting class is a group of winners,” Harper said through a press release. “The four of them signed with N.C. State to be a part of something special here. They have high expectations for the next few years. They're all quite talented and come from very successful high school and summer basketball programs.
“These young ladies are the type of players I want to coach because I know they'll give effort. They are blue-collar, fiercely competitive and unselfish players committed to building N.C. State into a championship program. As we look at this year's senior class, as well as what we lost last year, we believe that these four young women will not only help us fill those gaps, but also help us take another step forward towards the top of the ACC.”
