Triangle Wind Ensemble
Koka Booth Amphitheatre 8003 Regency Pkwy, Cary, North Carolina 27518
It’s been fifty years since Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin stepped foot on the moon. To celebrate, the Triangle Wind Ensemble is playing a concert of moon-themed music. There are the usual pieces that pop up any time a large ensemble thinks about space—“Mars” from The Planets, Also Sprach Zarathustra, Star Wars—to which they’ve added some moon-centric additions: “Moondance,” “Moon River,” “Fly Me to the Moon.” All that’s missing is some Sun Ra.
