Summer is the season when sharing a meal with company feels most relaxing and almost necessary. And you’re never late: Once the fireflies start blinking, you know it’s suppertime.

A bonus to keep the blood alcohol content in check: farmer-prepared lamb from Border Springs Farms and fresh oysters from Rappahannock River Oysters. The event runs from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. For reservations, visit nttn.eventbrite.com.

Tour de Fat, a bicycle-themed countrywide tour sponsored by New Belgium Brewing (www.newbelgium.com), returns to Durham on Saturday, June 23, for the second year in a row. The first ride starts at American Tobacco at 10 a.m., and there’s a free celebration at 11 a.m. Homemade bicycles are a riot to test out on the lawn, with free-flowing beer and local food making the rounds. The tour benefits the cycling nonprofit North Carolina Active Transportation Alliance.

Two new restaurant openings have the Triangle abuzz. After much anticipation by local food blogs, Lilly’s Pizza (lillyspizza.com), the legendary pizza joint in Raleigh’s Five Points, finally opened a second location last week in the former Pop’s spot at 810 W. Peabody St. in Durham. And in Carrboro, the former Fleet Feet store at Carr Mill has transformed into Venable Rotisserie Bistro (venablebistro.com). Racks of running shoes have been replaced by a slow-turning chicken rotisserie in a revamped restaurant space with a farm-to-table focus. Chef and owner Drew Moore is locally known for being the Federal’s first chef and manning the kitchen at Il Palio and Tyler’s Taproom.
