The Great American Beer Festival—which features probably the most prestigious competition in the craft brewing industry, drawing nearly eight thousand entries in ninety-nine categories—took place this weekend in Denver. And while North Carolina breweries didn’t earn as much hardware as, say, Oregon, whose breweries nabbed seventeen medals, including seven golds, we did all right for ourselves.

Across the state, N.C. breweries grabbed fifteen medals, including four golds and three silvers. Three of those winners—Lynwood Brewing Concern, Bond Brothers Beer Company, and Lonerider Brewing Company—are from the Triangle.

The winners (with locals on top) are:

  • Lynwood Brewing Concern (Raleigh), Saison Du Bois, gold medal, American-Belgo-Style Ale
  • Lynwood Brewing Concern (Raleigh), Mosaic Pale Ale, silver medal, American-Style Pale Ale
