In a statement released this afternoon, Bruce Springsteen announced that he has canceled his Greensboro show scheduled for Sunday. April 10.

“There are many groups, businesses, and individuals in North Carolina working to oppose and overcome these negative developments,” Springsteen wrote on his website. “Taking all of this into account, I feel that this is a time for me and the band to show solidarity for those freedom fighters.”

The show was Springsteen’s only currently schedule North Carolina date, ahead of his departure for a European tour next month. Tickets will be refunded at the point of purchase. Officials at the Greensboro Coliseum could not be reached for immediate comment.
