After putting nearly every local music blogger into a tizzy, a LiveNation spokesperson confirmed via press release this morning that U2 will indeed grace lil’ ol Raleigh with its big god damn tour. No date yet, but there’s always that Oct. 3 possibility that everyone’s mentioned. And, over at N.C. State, the rumored venue, there seems to be a little confusion about the date and the confirmation: “October 2 was the date they were looking at, but I haven’t heard confirmation on that,” said Annabelle Myers this morning.
Honestly, I still like U2, but this much worry for a date seven months away is pretty obnoxious, right? Guess Bono has to plan ahead to crank out those great columns for The New York Times. We kind of deserve it, though.
