Dale Watson and his Lonestars
Schoolkids Records, Raleigh

Fresh off of three days at the newly relocated National Folk Festival in Greensboro, Dale Watson and his Lonestars stopped off at Schoolkids Records recently to promote his latest release, Call Me Insane. The Lloyd Maines-produced album has received rave reviews, and the record store was packed to see the Texas country icon. The set was brief, lasting only about 40 minutes. Still, Watson held court, telling stories, pushing Lone Star Beer and even honoring a few requests.

After wrapping up, Watson sat at the back of the store, signing CDs and LPs. From there Watson was off to a return trip to Selma, NC, then to Charlotte and back to Texas after what is likely his last trip to the Triangle this year.

Below are clips of his performance, featuring songs from Call Me Insane.
