The folks at the Jewish Community Center of Durham-Chapel Hill are throwing a community-wide version of what they describe as a long-standing Jewish tradition of eating Chinese food and watching movies on Christmas Day.
So if you visit N.C. Hillel in Chapel Hill on Dec. 25, dress up in your Russian peasant best and be prepared to sing along with Fiddler on the Roof. There’s even a Tevye look-alike contest and, of course, a kosher Chinese dinner. The feast starts at 6 p.m. Tickets are $25, $15 for students and children. Visit www.shalomdch.org for information.
