Wander through the workshops of Chatham County artists the next two weekends as part of the 13th annual CHATHAM STUDIO TOUR. Grab a map at one of several local galleries (or download one from the Web site below) and visit any of 58 artists–potters, painters, photographers, jewelers and more. Handmade works of art make much cooler holiday presents than anything you’d find at the mall, and you’ll get to see inside the workshops of the elves that made your gifts. An opening reception will be held Friday in the gallery of the Central Carolina Community College campus in Pittsboro from 7-9 p.m. The tour runs Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 3 and 4, 10 and 11; Saturday hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday hours are noon to 5 p.m. All events are free, and the tour is self-guided.
