Quail Ridge Books and Music wants to enlist you in a good cause. This month, the book store has launched a book drive to help create the Mayview Community Library, in the low-income Raleigh Housing Authority development off of Oberlin Road, behind Jaycee Park. The community has partnered with local churches and the Hand Up Foundation to provide educational opportunities for the children of Mayview, with the hope of implementing a HOSTS (Helping One Student to Succeed) Program, a structured, national literacy program that provides one-on-one mentoring. For each HOSTS program, there must be an adequate library in the community. During the month of September, Quail Ridge Books has up an in-store display of books that can be purchased at a discount to be donated to Mayview’s Community Library.
