Burlesque is back, for a while at least, and taking center stage in the revival around here is The Rebelles, an Asheville-based troupe. Last year they threw us a kiss via an appearance at the Sleazefest after-party. On Saturday, June 5, they bring the full revue to the ArtsCenter in Carrboro. With a cast of 16 ribald personas with names like Ivanna Gedolph, Allison Wonderpants and Lulu Blue and a wry sense of humor in their songs and skits, this is more than retro, it’s 21st century burlesque.
