On April 19, 2009, Independent Voices producer Adam Pyburn met and interviewed longtime activists and core members of the Catalyst Project Clare Bayard and Ingrid Chapman.

The Catalyst Project is a center for political education and movement building based out of the San Francisco Bay Area. This organization’s anti-racist work in majority white sections of left social movements promotes deepening anti-racist commitment in white communities and building multiracial left movements for liberation. It also focuses on creating spaces for activists and organizers to collectively develop relevant theory, vision and strategy to build left movements.

Independent Voices caught up with Clare and Ingrid in Durham to learn about the local issues and organizing in the South.
