One of North Carolina’s most glorious complainers, David Sedaris has experienced such success that recently he was able to move from New York, the United States’ most expensive and exclusive city, to Paris, the old world’s answer to high culture. But it is Sedaris’ combination of comic humility with his criticism that makes him so endearing, and his new book, Me Talk Pretty One Day, includes a hilarious exploration of his attempts to learn French in his new home. Many will find his whine-inflected voice familiar from his gig as top correspondent for the radio show This American Life. Sedaris comes to Quail Ridge Books to discuss his new collection on Tuesday, June 6, at 7:30 p.m. For more information, call 828-1588.
