JOHNNY BOGGS
BARNES & NOBLE–Author Johnny Boggs is mostly known for his keenly crafted Western novels celebrating the hardships of the American pioneer or the gun-slinging cowboy. But in his most recent work, Ghost Legion, Boggs abandons the mud-filled streets and smoke-filled salons of the Western landscape in favor of the bloody battlegrounds of the East Coast during the Revolutionary War era. A change in scenery seems to have done Boggs some good. His new tale of a woman and a black man’s opposing loyalties in the midst of the war for independence creates an intriguing portrayal of the violence and struggle for freedom through the eyes of the average participant.
