CARRBORO
THE RADIATORS
CAT’S CRADLE–For nearly three decades, N’awleans R&B vets The Radiators have served up a gumbo of ’60s tinged rock ‘n’ roll. Covering everyone from Van Morrison to Merle Haggard and Howling Wolf, they also play originals that they call fish head music, such as their crawfish ingestion guide and the unofficial Big Easy anthem “Suck the Head.” The Radiators continue to spread the gospel of New Orleans all over the map. –Grant Britt
CHAPEL HILL
SILVANUS SLAUGHTER
WEATHERVANE LOUNGE–Self-described poet, rocker and world-weary jazz cowboy plays from the new second volume of his rock opera at 6 p.m.

RETROFANTASMA
CAROLINA THEATRE–This month’s Retrofantasma leads off with The Story of Ricky, which helped set the standard upon its release back in 1991. We’re told to look for heads being punched in half and for some creative uses of internal organs. Yum-yum! The second half of the bill is the succinctly titled The Sword and The Sorcerer. The double feature begins at 7:30 p.m. and tickets are $6.75. –David Fellerath
