It’s time again for a fantastical giant puppet pageant presented by Paperhand Puppet Intervention at the Forest Theatre in Chapel Hill.
Come out to explore and celebrate the wild and wildness in everything. Already in its second week, this year’s production is called Garden of the Wild. The performance is composed of short vignettes expressing Paperhand’s many thoughts and feelings about wildness, and features a number of puppetry styles including masked dancers, stilt walkers, giant beasts and shadows at the end.
Garden of the Wild runs every Friday, Saturday and Sunday evening through Sept. 4. Shows begin at 7 p.m. with a different pre-show every night at 6:30 (see www.paperhand.org for pre-show schedule).
Admission is $10, $7 for ages 12 and under, 2 and under are free. Forest Theatre is located on the UNC-Chapel Hill campus directly across from the Paul Green Theatre. This is an outdoor amphitheater, so come prepared: Bring a picnic, something to drink and something soft for your butt (the seating is stone).
