Few bands can claim to have developed a unique form of music, but in the half-dozen years that the members of Shark Quest have been at it, they’ve come pretty close. Their latest Merge Records release–number three–starts off with a riff that could have wound up on a King Sunny record and kicks into a beat that could back a Scottish reel.
The Shark Quest record release party is at Local 506 Friday, Sept. 3 with Billy Sugarfix and Des Ark.
