Local shelter: Hundreds of people evacuees arrived Monday in Raleigh, where they will stay at the Wake County Hurricane Disaster Victim Center near the N.C. State Fairgrounds. N.C. Peace & Justice Coalition: Raising money to charter buses to deliver donated supplies and then offer to bring refugees back to be hosted by Triangle families. Cameron Park Neighborhood in Raleigh: Running a letter-writing campaign to offer personal, handwritten words of encouragement to people who have fled to the Houston convention center.
