Lori Millberg, who represents East Wake (District 1), won’t seek a second term on the Wake school board in the ’09 elections, the N&O reports. It’s a blow to the board’s pro-diversity majority; Ron Margiotta, the southwestern Wake rep (District 8) and an outspoken conservative, is already sharpening his election knife. Four years on the board is enough, Millberg says:

“We have a great school system because we have a wonderful board and a wonderful staff,” Millberg said. “But all we get, particularly from the press, are complaints and put-downs.”
