THE CAVEThis Cleveland quintet balance the soulful roots of The Band and the open-hearted Midwestern bar band twang of the Honeydogs or Jayhawks. Suffused with steely resilience, songs such as the aching, lap-steel fueled “Cobblestone Road” and jangly, gospel-tinged blues of “Roger Hoover’s Dream” imagine a simpler, rustic life with the yearning of a Springsteen protagonist.
