THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST

SOUTHERN VILLAGE GREEN–Our own Village Players tackle Oscar Wilde’s important comedy of manners, The Importance of Being Earnest, each Monday and Thursday through the end of the month. The play, set in Victorian-era England, hit just at the peak of Wilde’s popularity, and its success has rendered it a touchstone of his career. It’s been turned into a film at least three times since its release in 1895.
