That altruistic concept is easy to hear in their polyrhythmic debut, Revival Time, where beats shimmy, shake and undulate beneath a fusion of jazz, funk rhythms and percussion. They used to call themselves Boston Afrobeat Society: Just check the slow-burn jungle-beats and swelling horns of Revival Time (especially its title track), and you’ll hear why.
