INSIGHT MEDITATION PRACTICE GROUP
ENO RIVER UNITARIAN UNIVERSALIST FELLOWSHIPLegendary Vietnamese Buddhist monk Thich Nhat Hanh says meditation “improves the quality of our life, [bringing] more peace and serenity, and the quality of the work we do will be improved just by that kind of practice.” He encourages people to practice forms of mediation as often as possible, even if it is only 30 seconds of mindful breathing. The Zen Meditation Group meets every Monday night from 7:30 to 9 p.m. to practice such forms of meditation, including sitting meditation, walking meditation and sometimes chanting. The group also studies Buddhist literature and teachings, focusing on a different aspect of Buddhism each week. Tonight’s meeting will focus on key Buddhist teachings and practices.
