SLOAN
CAT’S CRADLECheap Trick and jangle devotees, Sloan isn’t about reinventing the wheel as much as they are tweaking and making it shine. Four Canadian songwriters in one punchy unit, the quartet became one of the biggest coups for Yep Roc Records earlier this year. Their Yep Roc debut, Never Hear the End of It, cuts bait on the LP concept, sandwiching 30 songs in 80 dynamic, tight, well-edited minutes. At least two-thirds of these hooks will snag you. Indeed, few bands manage technical perfection together and taste like Sloan, especially in their own studio, especially for 15 years, especially over 30 tracks on one album. Small Sins opens at 9:15 p.m., with tickets $12-$14. Grayson Currin
