If you learned anything this summer it should have been that rock ‘n’ roll, from the Stones to CSNY, isn’t dead–it just got a lot older. The Allman Brothers Band, who visit Alltel Pavilion yet again on Saturday, Oct. 1, are closing their 36th year of touring, and two of their final three shows are set for North Carolina. The band has been grooving their old tunes with the fresh blend of guitarists Derek Trucks and Warren Haynes for an ABB experience that reminds you of the good old days with a deeper clash of jam, jazz and blues. Jam rockers moe. will set the stage for those of the early-Allman jam rock persuasion, replacing Lynyrd Skynyrd as opener–Johnny Van Zant, who toured with Gregg Allman before the brothers reunited for their summer tour, had to drop off the tour with a vocal cord inflammation. Tickets range from $23.50 to $48.50.
