Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver open the season and celebrate the move to the Progress Energy Center for PineCone, the Piedmont Council of Traditional Music (see story on page 42). With one of the most impressive résumés in bluegrass music, including work with The Country Gentlemen, Jimmy Martin and J. D. Crowe, Lawson adds his own jubilee touch to the sound he’s developed over three decades of playing. Lawson and Quicksilver play Meymandi Concert Hall Friday, Oct. 7 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $23-$30. Tickets are available from the box office or through Ticketmaster.
