The evergreen Flicker Film Festival plays film shorts to packed houses every other month, but out of aesthetic conviction, its offerings are restricted to celluloid productions. Now, a group of Triangle artists is presenting the 301 Film Forum–some of the fine short digital work that’s been produced by local filmmakers over the last couple of years. Organizer Michael Lucas and cohorts will be presenting South Fork, their most recent project, which won an audience award at the Dallas Film Festival, and an older project called Set. Also on the program is The Firefly Man, Raleigh artist Todd Fjelsted’s sensational and enchanting animated tale of an old man and the fireflies in his dreams. Durham native Seth Grossman’s Shock Act is also on the program.
The 301 Film Forum shows Saturday, Jan. 29 at 8 p.m. at Temple Ball, 307 E. Main St., Carrboro. $5.
