Two signature Raleigh projects going in different directions in our suck economy:
1) The Green Square project is accelerated by the Council of State’s action yesterday; that’s the state office complex (for the Department of Environment and Natural Resources) that includes an expansion of the Museum of Natural Sciences. More on Green Square here.
2) But the Blount Street Commons redevelopment project is slowing down because of the economy; LNR isn’t closing on some of the state properties yet (including the house used for the Lieutenant Goverrnor’s offices) and is renting back to the state some of the houses and parking lots it’s already acquired. More on Blount Street here and here.
