The Love Language
Local 506The fuzzy pop nuggets that comprise The Love Language’s debut sound were born out of a garage, which is fitting: Ex-Capulets leader Stu McLamb, in a post-breakup (band and girl) haze, rented a storage space and laid down the nine songs himself on a four-track. Tonight’s the Triangle release party, though you wouldn’t know by listening. Paying no allegiance to era or genre, The Love Language blends classic pop and soul with a couple of decades of indie-rock influence. Now a full-fledged septet, the dynamic band breathes new life into McLamb’s lo-fi creations. Max Indian and Oh Captain, My Captain open the $7 show, which starts at 8 p.m. Spencer Griffith

I Went to the House but Did Not Enter
Memorial Hall, UNC CampusIn a continuation of the adventurous live programming of Carolina Performing Arts, this is an experimental piece that delves into texts by key 20th-century modernists, conceived by German director Heiner Goebbels. I Went to the House but Did Not Enter combines music and theater for interpretations of T.S. Eliot’s The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock, Maurice Blanchot’s The Madness of the Day and Samuel Beckett’s Worstward Ho! in a trio of tableaux.
