KICKIN’ GRASS
ARTSCENTERThe Raleigh-based Kickin’ Grass specializes in the kind of neo-traditional bluegrass that bumps and crashes with tinny textures and hum-worthy harmonies, often triggering foot-stomps and knee-slaps with abandon. But if you don’t feel like dancing, the Apple Chill Cloggers will be on hand to do the fancy footwork for you. Tickets are $10 for the 8:30 p.m. show. Kathy Justice

“WORLD OF WHEELS”
EXPLORISIn decades past, the bicycle was the very symbol of childhood freedom, but the journey from training wheels to drivers’ license has largely been replaced by parent-chauffeured trips in the family car. To reconnect children with the pleasures of biking, Exploris in Raleigh is hosting a “World of Wheels” talk and demonstration. Garland Poole of REI will teach kids all about bikes, from the history of the Tour de France to cycle rickshaws in Indonesia, and he’ll show off some nifty bike tricks. The event, which begins at 2 p.m., is free with $5 museum admission. For more info, visit www.exploris.org. Marc Maximov
