Bickett Gallery–Sometimes inspiration comes from the strangest sources. First, earnest (if fictitious) film semiotician Anthony Forte-Bowell spent far too much time thinking about the Three Stooges. That, in turn, got regional (and non-fictitious) choreographer Cara Clark started thinking about Forte-Bowell. Her response to the film review satire joins a suspenseful work by Renay Aumiller, improv by Immediate Theater, and a creation by dancer Carson Efird and DeYarmond Edison’s Joe Westerlund during two showcase performances at 4 and 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $6.

Steep Canyon Rangers
The Pour House–“I’m hoping that some of our songs end up being standards,” offered a chuckling and deservedly optimistic Woody Platt, lead vocalist and guitarist for bluegrassers the Steep Canyon Rangers, at the release of the band’s latest, One Dime at a Time. In the meantime, they’ll pack The Pour House with folks thrilled to hear their standards-in-waiting orginals as well as their arrangements of traditional and country & western songs, such as the Del Reeves’ number that gives One Dime at a Time its title.
