The Chamber Orchestra of the Triangle
Carolina TheatreAlexander Fiterstein’s style of playing the clarinet fits well with Gerald Finzi’s style of composing for it: warm and lyrical, smooth and songlike, Fiterstein and Finzi are a natural match, pairing youth and vibrancy with serious achievement. Fiterstein will perform Finzi’s “Clarinet Concerto,” one of a handful of works the composer wrote in his short life, Sunday with The Chamber Orchestra of the Triangle. The program includes Max Bruch’s “Concerto for Clarinet and Viola” and Ottorino Respighi’s “Ancient Airs and Dances, Suite II.” This is Fiterstein’s third appearance as a featured soloist with the chamber orchestra.
