Channeling the anarchic spirit of Screaming Jay, the nomadic, loose-limbed insouciance of the Modern Lovers’ “Roadrunner,” and the debauched, dissolute strut of three young men gone to (the) Seed(s), The Spinns is the ultimate end-of-party band, the musical equivalent of a 4 a.m. beer find, a hip-shaking final gasp against impending sobriety.
The Dirty Little Heaters features Spinns bassist Rob Walsh and is led by heartfelt soul shouter Reese McHenry. The band’s bloozy bristle is hotter than a steaming Mickey D’s espresso in your lap. Opening the show is Spinns drummer Josh Johnson, starring as Pinche Gringo with a little help from his lovely lady Sarita. The ragged rumble sounds like a long-lost broadcast from the taint of Hell.
