CAROLINA MUSIC FESTIVAL
KOKA BOOTH AMPHITHEATREIf lazy Sundays are meant for relaxation, smooth jazz may be the perfect soundtrack. That’s one residing theme for the final day of the Carolina Music Festival, where the line-up includes such jazz all-stars as Joe Sample, Randy Crawford, Boney James and Michael Franks delivering their smooth grooves. But the festival doesn’t hinge solely around jazz: Saturday’s roster includes soul singers Erykah Badu and Tyrese headlining, and Friday sports the smooth rock of Michael McDonald and the eclectic funk of War. Sunday’s show starts at 2 p.m. and costs $40-$62.50. Kathy Justice
