Raleigh

Wastedness Tour

Kings–It was admittedly odd, watching Scott Williams stand in the door of Kings’ stage entrance, smiling and shaking along to Street Sharks, a tight-locked, frenetic punk quartet from Raleigh, each member perhaps two decades younger than him. Williams, maybe best known for his time in Days of…, had just played his first show with Double Negative, a new punk band he formed with Brian Walsby, Justin Gray and Kevin Collins in response to a resurgent Raleigh punk-rock house scene. Street Sharks sports four of the principals of that entire movement. The bands share a bill again, this time with Savannah’s dual-guitar, metal-growl, sludge-meets-triple-time-signatured Baroness and RVA’s thrashing Municipal Waste. The banger begins at 9 p.m.
