Johnny Cash Tribute

The Pour House—It’s fitting that these two central North Carolina roots band would team up for a show to pay tribute to the Man in Black’s birthday, with both promising to include a couple of Cash songs in their set. The rockabillying, primal rocking Straight 8s can handle the Sun Records era and, for better or worse, it’s not hard to picture outlaw country guys Hearts & Daggers killing a man in Reno just to watch him die. The boom-chicka-boom starts at 9 p.m., and a mere $5 gets you in the door. –Rick Cornell
