ROBERT CRAY & KOKO TAYLOR
BOOTH AMPHITHEATREIt’s an evening of Chicago Blues, highlighted by its reigning queen, big brassy belter Koko Taylor, who scored out-of-the-box in ’65 with the Willie Dixon-penned hit “Wang Dang Doodle.” The floorboard-rattling vocalist is supporting her appropriately titled new album Old School. Guitarist Robert Cray is an inspired performer who’s never been able to please the purists with his soulful croon and R&B-inflected blues style, which are smooth without being featureless. He’s penned several antiwar tunes in the past few years and recently released the fine Live From Across the Pond. Tickets are $22-$38 for the 4 p.m. show. Chris Parker
