Barry Saunders has an poignant, respectful column in today’s N&O about recently slain Durham business owner Ronnie Sturdivant, his long-standing quest to bring Oprah to the city and his many dustups with city officials. No word yet on what will become of Sturdivant’s properties–the former Holiday Inn turned decaying Urban Merchant Center on West Chapel Hill Street, or the We Want Oprah building, as it’s known, on Corcoran Street.
