The North Carolina Museum of Art is hosting its first major exhibit of this state’s famed potters. The Potter’s Eye, which opened last weekend, includes some of the finest contemporary pieces, but also reaches back to the 19th century to look at the beginnings of the state’s pottery tradition. On Sunday, Nov. 6, potter Mark Hewitt, one of the exhibit’s chief curators, presents “A Potter’s Progress”–his take on the process and history of the art. The talk starts at 2 p.m. with a reception following from 3-4 p.m.
