Barry Scheck and Susan Estrich **
UNC CampusO.J. Simpson made Barry Scheck famous, and Michael Dukakis, one of the more hapless Democratic presidential candidates of the last century, did a similar deed for Susan Estrich. Since parting from their respective benefactors, Scheck has launched a nationwide movement to use DNA technology to exonerate the wrongly convicted, and Estrich has written books on feminist issues and newspaper columns of general punditry. Tonight, the pair hold forth in UNC-Chapel Hill’s Memorial Hall, as part of the school’s year-long series of death penalty-related programming. The 7:30 p.m. event is free but tickets are required.
